Commander/Relater Overview

Commander/Relaters (C/R) are Extroverted, Sensing, Thinking types. Extroverted sensing in the dominant position is seen only in opposing combinations. With extroverted sensing in this position, they can get so wrapped up in facts and unfolding events that they become subject to them. Their moods may be dictated by whether or not things are going well outside themselves, making them subject to wide mood swings. With thinking as their secondary function, C/Rs tend to base their decisions and actions on intellect and logic, yet can become emotional when their logic is challenged. With this opposition, conflicts may arise when C/Rs are paradoxically driven then laid-back, decisive then indecisive, or concerned then distant. Commanders are action oriented risk-takers, Relaters are
reserved and cautious. As a result, they tend to be daredevils in some areas, and overly cautious in others. C/Rs usually function best in environments that are structured, but flexible.
